Artist's Statement:
McGill uses components of the map and the physical map, itself, in painting and collage. The expressionistic images combine geometry of measurement with figurative elements. This work explores our need to organize spatial experience and in turn manipulate unfamiliar experiences to conform with our previous history of familiar experiences.
