Artist's Statement:
My artwork tells stories. They are stories about animals and the relationship between humans and animals. Mythology and folk wisdom are often incorporated in the pieces. Today's climate change issues and how they affect wildlife also figure heavily in my work.
I have been the Artist-in-Residence at Acadia National Park in Maine in 2018 and at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona in 2013. My training in Bookbinding at the North Bennet Street School and graduate degree in Folklore from University College Cork, Ireland influence my work. I use a variety of media: acrylic, wood, metal, paper, bookboard, gouache, and watercolor.
