Artist's Statement:
This is a series of photographs of men and women who fish for lobster, and dig for worms and clams in Downeast, Maine. Lobstering, worming and clamming is difficult, hard and, in the case of lobstering, dangerous, heavy lifting work in all kinds of weather. It takes strength, grit, knowledge, endurance, trust and love of the work to do it.
