Artist's Statement:
I work between drawing and painting transforming my observations of the world around me into an abstract visual language that celebrates color, relationships, movement, and space. My imagery draws from the connection between diagnostic imaging technologies and landscape, the microscopic and macroscopic.
I meld observation with imagination, resulting in a relationship of connections and disconnections between flat color and black mark, stillness of shape and active mark, movement and space. Pushing the formal aspects present in the work, I'm interested in making the negative shapes prominent creating spaces/places that look like something was once there, but is no longer.
