Artist's Statement:
This year I have worked on landscapes: two trips to the desert inspired a number of paintings; a series of small, imaginary landscapes in a particular palette of strong, rich, deep colors was a lengthy struggle to realize, but some works emerged at long last; and a Somerville moment that I observed while waiting for a bus after working in my studio was the starting point for several paintings.
